It happened on February 8th, 1982

The day I was born…..30 YEARS AGO!  I can’t believe I’m 30!  When I was in middle school and high school, I thought all my teachers that were 30, were “old!”Anyways, the day was coming…and everyone asked me “oh my gosh, 30…are you ready for that?”  And they would ask it cautiously, of course!  My response was always the same, “I’m embracing it, the day comes whether you want it to or not…so why deny it!!”

The honest to goodness truth is this:  I have a great life!  I married a great man at 22, graduated college at 23, had our wonderful baby boy Brayden at 26 and will be moving into a new house we are building later this year!  That’s pretty darn great if you ask me!

My theory is the best is yet to come….more success, more awareness, more compassion…even more love and laughter–it can only get better from here, right? 🙂

I was absolutely ecstatic that all my family and friends could celebrate with me…and feel super blessed to have them all in my life!

Here are a few photos from my birthday, and also from when my friends and family went out to celebrate!

Amazing Cupcakes from Sugar Mamas!

Everyone at dinner! 🙂

The hubs and I!

My brother flew in from FL to surprise me!!

I had a wonderful birthday….and I’m so thankful to have all these wonderful people in my life!

I am extremely thankful for everything I have, and can’t wait to see what the next 30 years are like!

Now…excuse me why I put on my eye cream…..

Welcome to Mod Mommy Mk!

This blog has been a little over a year in the making.  I am so excited to share with you all my “collective” thoughts, opinions, tips, and ideas on everything from parenting, cooking, dieting, shopping, the latest trends, the best local spots, the best take out and even the best parks!

I am a happily married mom of a spunky, hilarious, compassionate, beautiful 3 and a half year old named Brayden.  Our lives are full of excitement and always super busy and we wouldn’t change a single thing!

As parents, there are so many magical moments that just fly right past us that I(we) would love to capture and hold onto forever.

As mommies, we should realize that it’s ok to still be ourselves, and it’s ok to have a LIFE and friends, Church groups, jewelry clubs, reading clubs, workout buds and Twilight premiere parties (Wait, is that just me and my friends??  Judge away, but we know how to throw a rockin Vampire shindig!).

My hope is that this blog encompasses all my passions, dreams, favorites and sprinkles of stories from my own parenting experiences on top!

Come along with me on this adventure and feel free to share your own experiences as well!
